Join us in welcoming Garrett Yerigan as the new voice of the High Desert Stampede!

New for our 2024 Coastal High Desert Stampede presented by Pahlisch ProRodeo, is two time announcer of the year, Garrett Yerigan! We are excited to see Garrett take the announcer’s booth as the new voice of the High Desert Stampede!

Garrett’s accomplishments are many, but let’s learn more about him.

Being that he was at his first rodeo at just two weeks old, it’s easy to say Garrett has been around rodeo all his life. His dad, Dale, is a former rodeo competitor and mom, Kathy, still competes in Barrel Racing. Kathy is a former International Finals Rodeo qualifier in the Barrel Racing and Dale is an 11-time IPRA World Champion in the Steer Wrestling and is currently the General Manager of the International Professional Rodeo Association. Garrett is a 2013 graduate of Pryor High School in Pryor, Oklahoma.

Garrett has been a very active member in the FFA serving as the Chapter Sentinel and later Vice-President. He was blessed enough to be the 2012 Oklahoma FFA Proficiency Winner in Agricultural Communications and went on to be the National Winner that same year. In 2013, he finished in the Top 3 for Northeast District Star in Agribusiness, received his State FFA Degree, and was the State and National Outdoor Recreation Proficiency Winner. In 2016 Garrett finished his FFA career by being a National Finalist for National Star in Agribusiness and receiving his American FFA Degree.

Garrett is currently a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Assoc. (PRCA) and the International Pro Rodeo Assoc. (IPRA) and works approximately 150 performances per year. In 2014, Garrett set a record as the youngest announcer in the International Finals Rodeo’s (IFR) now 54-year history! Garrett is a 7-time IFR Announcer. He also has been selected to work events such as the inaugural National Finals Breakaway Roping, The American Rodeo, Cheyenne Frontier Days, PRCA Xtreme Broncs Tour Finale, Colorado State Fair, 101 Wild West Pro Rodeo, PPCLA Mineral Wells Rodeo, and the National High School & Junior High Finals Rodeos. He was voted by his fellow PRCA members as the 2021 and 2022 Announcer of the Year! Garrett can be heard in states such as Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, South Dakota, Texas, Wyoming, and more.

In 2015, Garrett joined the team of only 5 PBR in-house announcers and could be heard at some of the Velocity Tour events and at select PBR Australia Cup Series events. In 2015 and 2016 he was selected to work the ABBI World Finals held in conjunction with the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas. In 2016, Garrett voiced the inaugural run of the PBR Monster Energy Tour in Canada.

Aside from announcing, Garrett has played key roles in major rodeo productions throughout his career. He has served as the Opening Ceremonies Coordinator and Red Hat at the 2020 National Finals Rodeo in Arlington, TX, Show Caller at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo 2022-23, Red Hat for The American Rodeo in 2021, and Production Manager for the 2021 International Finals Rodeo. These roles have given Garrett a firsthand grasp of some of the biggest and most elaborate productions in the industry, in turn, helping his knowledge and ability behind the microphone.
